PASTORAL APPOINTMENT

During the worship service on February 5th, the announcement was made of our new pastoral appointment to FUMC. In July, we will welcome Reverend Andrea Kraushaar and her family into our church leadership. Andrea currently is the Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church in Boone.

THE LORD'S CUPBOARD

Urgent needs for February include canned fruit, tomato soup, pudding, and Jello.  Plastic grocery bags are always needed. Financial contributions are welcome.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

Recent months have seen the Lord's Cupboard servicing more families than ever in our area. Needless to say, the shelves are getting bare. Items such as Hamburger Helper, tuna, pancake mix - anything a family can use to make a meal are sorely needed. Personal hygiene products such as soap, shampoo and deodorant are also necessary. Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

ASH WEDNESDAY

The combined Methodist Churches of Fort Dodge will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 7 PM on February 22nd at Epworth United Methodist Church. The service will include the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.  All are invited to take part in this joint worship time as we begin this most holy season.

RING THEM BELLS!

The Wesley Ringers is looking for some substitute bell ringers. The ability to read music is necessary but the knowledge of bell ringing is not.  Contact the church office or Shelley Ellerston for more information.

BEACON OF HOPE
AND FIRST UMC

The Administrative Council recently announced a partnership with the Beacon of Hope to meet a significant need that exists there. Beginning August 15th, the Beacon of Hope will utilize our kitchen on every Monday evening to prepare and serve their evening meal. This relationship as created by the Trustees will include the voluntary support of at least two host members of our church to assist in the kitchen as needed.
