Welcome to First United Methodist's Web Site.

For those of you that have an interest in the construction of this site, we'll give you a few facts:

The web site is an endorsed project of First United Methodist Church.  We're always interested in knowing of persons who might wish to volunteer to work with us on the site.  If you have access to a computer, have a web browser and an internet connection, we welcome your help.  Just contact us - we'll discuss what you might do to assist.  (If you have a web browser, you also undoubtedly have a low impact HTML editor such as Netscape Communicator or Windows Notepad).  If you wish to help in editing copy, we'll be happy to train you in the mechanics of those tasks.

We could always use persons who might assist in promotion and authoring as well as site checking to insure we have the widest and best exposure on various search engines available on the World Wide Web.

The Flame & Cross logo on each of our pages is a registered trademark of the United Methodist Church.  Further information on its use will be found as a footnote on the Home Page.

We've used Microsoft's FrontPage 2003® software, as well as their Image Composer, Version 1.5® as working tools and editors for the construction of all pages and images. Some "tweaking" was accomplished with hand entered HTML language. It has been tested on various platforms including both Netscape and Microsoft's Internet Explorer, versions 4.0 and above.

Images of our church building, appointments and windows were scanned into our site using either digital cameras or scanner systems and  enhanced using the MS PictureIt Version 10® program.  They were saved in either jpeg or  GIF® formats in most cases.  Some symbols  and graphics, courtesy of the General Board of Global Ministries - United Methodist Church, are in GIF format.

Our site is hosted by NetPivotal.com  A Registered Web Presence Provider, they are certified by Microsoft®, verifying proper configuration and installation of the server extensions developed for FrontPage 2003®.

We make every effort to respect the privacy of members of our congregation, and you our visitor.  Unnamed contacts may be made by contacting our offices by telephone or e-mailing us for information.   Any counters used reflect only visits made to our system, not location or addresses of the site visitor.
