Service Groups

Service groups & agencies form an integral part of the ministry of First United Methodist Church. Opportunities are available to members and friends of the congregation which include:

Scouting Programs
I-Cubs, sponsored by the Iowa Coalition for the Blind and is hosted by First United Methodist Church. It provides an opportunity for persons to come together, sharing common goals and needs for visually impaired. It is open to all persons in the community.
Interfaith Forum: An ecumenical community group comprised of both clergy and lay persons who come together to share the common needs and goals of all faith communities in the area. The Executive Committee of the Interfaith Forum meets on a regular basis in the North Building of our church complex.
Legal Services: Legal Services of Iowa is hosted by our congregation, providing space for this group to meet clients in need of no cost legal services. Search the calendars to determine dates and times that they are available.
Lord's Cupboard Food Pantry
Prayer Chain (Call 576-7586) If you are in need of prayer support for yourself or someone for whom you have a concern, you are invited to contact us. Specific information is available by contacting the above number.
United Methodist Women
Habitat for Humanity
Parkinson's Support, a group dedicated to the needs of those afflicted with Parkinson's Disease meets on a regular basis at our church complex. Please contact the Church Office for additional information concerning meetings dates and times.
Food Co-op Food Divide: A Unique program of food procurement. We provide the distribution site. If you have questions, please contact the church office. They will place you in contact with the appropriate persons.
