Each month, we feature a listing of scheduled activities of the United Methodist Women and their Circles at First United Methodist and activities of Church Women United. We invite you to contact the Church Office should you desire additional information.
United Methodist Women share a similar emblem of the United Methodist Church in the fluid, free flowing shape of the cross and a flame. These are ancient symbols of Christ and Pentecost, suggesting change and mobility...."I now remind you to stir into the flame the gift of God which is within you. (II Timothy 1:6a NEB)" The heritage of United Methodist Women is one of sacrifice, witness and service. The emblem serves as a continuing reminder of both opportunity and obligation. The organized circles of United Methodist Women at First Church are communities whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Locally, directories are provided to members of each of the circles that meet at appointed times throughout the year. Scheduled events of the circles are provided in the directory as well as in the weekly announcements and monthly calendar provided in our publicity, bulletins and on this web site. All women are encouraged to join a circle and take an active part. For further information, please contact the church office at 515.576.7586 or E-Mail us. A member of one of the circles will contact you. Lord's
